PestBusiness.com is being co-developed by three well-known and respected pest management industry organisations Xenex Associates, AIS and Active Solutions. Together we have a unique set of skills to develop PestBusiness.com to the highest professional standards.

The PestBusiness.com website already provides a unique information source on international events and there is an expanding collection of business-related articles from the pest management press as well as a useful 'Who's who' listing for the sector.

Around the world there are many pest management events such as Pest World, PestEx and Parasitec but these are generally centred on 'techno/commercial' matters with presentations on research, the sharing of technical knowledge and product promotion.

There are very few specific business-related events outside the US for the owners, directors and senior managers of companies in this sector, nor many for those interested in entering the sector. With its exclusive, business-focused approach, PestBusiness.com is looking to meet these needs and so help owners and directors grow their businesses. Opportunities Beyond Agriculture

Our inaugural seminar was held in Glasgow on 16 October 2007 during the XVI International Plant Protection Congress and took the theme Beyond Agriculture – Opportunities to Diversify.

Topics for the future might include understanding the funding options available for growth, enhancing business leaders knowledge of the acquisition and divestment processes, optimising performance through professional external service companies and identifying and evaluating new buisness opportunities. Events which focus on emerging themes within the industry will also be on the agenda.

Active Solutions

Active Solutions is a professional marketing communications business specialising in pest management and agriculture.

The partners provide public relations and marketing consultancy services to a range of national and international organisations.

The senior partners, Frances McKim and Helen Riby also edit and publish the UK's only independent bi-monthly magazine Pest. The suite of Pest publications also includes a regaulr e-news Pest+ and a topical, news-driven website.

Active Solutions also brings many years of conference marketing and management experience to the PestBusiness.com alliance including the UK's premier annual technical conference Pest-Ventures.

AIS

AIS has built its business on the provision of comprehensive global market data and intelligence on pests and pesticides together with associated consultancy services.

In 1992 the company identified an information need in the non-crop sector. Today it is the sole supplier of multi-country data on pesticides used in applications other than agriculture and commerical horticulture, including pest management.

Founder and managing director Rod Parker has worked on pesticide use, pests and animal health for over 20 years. As well as his native English, he is fluent in French and has authored numerous articles in British, French and Spanish journals.

AIS has a policy of using local consultants wherever possible.
